I let everyone know I was in a “rut” of sorts in regard to recent running attempts. Everyone was awesome and gave great advice to which I am very appreciative! My favorite was to go out and buy a new outfit. I did just that.
This past week I worked out every day! Teaching spin offers perfect cross-training opportunities 3x each week! I still miss Refine Method though and canceled a class I had signed up for. It is just so hard to get there from my new house and with my new commuting schedule. Big time bummer.
Overall, I feel better mentally (not quite physically)! I had one solid run with my friend Sky that helped bring be back from the dead and another with Danielle and her husband during a downpour that was definitely enjoyable! Running with my friends is awesome and I cherish that time. Teaching spin is definitely one of my favorite things to do. I love the energy and the music and the sweat! I am so happy I am able to teach 3x each week! I didn’t do a long run this week either. I wasn’t up for it unfortunately!
Monday 7/8: 45 min spin (teaching) followed by 2.5 mi easy run.
Tuesday 7/9: 5 mi run, 43 min. I met Danielle and Andy at a local track and we set off for 2 mi intervals. When the sky decided to shit on us for 30 min, we kept it to an easy run, conversational pace and accepted that we were not going to be dry anytime soon. Awesome company, always.
Wednesday 7/10: 7.63 mi, 1:05. Second attempt at 2 mi repeats (at half marathon pace). Sky and I headed to the West Side Highway path and after a nice warm up took off on our first interval. It was very humid so it wasn’t easy. Our splits were 8:00, 7:55. We decided to just run back at an easy pace because of the weather. Even though I didn’t complete the entire workout, it felt great to pick up the pace a bit and enjoy a run!
Thursday 7/11: 45 min spin (teaching)
Friday 7/12: 45 min spin (teaching)
Saturday 7/13: 30 min easy run, 3.06 mi.
Sunday 7/14: 45 min spin (teaching)
Total for the week of July 8-July 14:
- Running: 18.19 mi
- XT: 3 hours (4x spin)
Non-workout related, I spent the weekend with family and had a blast. On Saturday, we went to Fizz’s parents’ house. His dad just got a new boat (YAY) so we took a ride and relaxed! Afterward we had an awesome dinner outside! On Sunday, my family came up to our new house to help unpack and have lunch! Great weekend!
How was your weekend? Did anyone race? Let’s chat!
