It’s Memorial Day Weekend! It’s Marathon Weekend!

Except I’m not running a marathon.

I am not upset. I am happy.

It was an emotional few months. I don’t think I could have run a successful full marathon. Instead I ran my hardest at the Brooklyn Half last week. I have a new half marathon PR and the drive to continue to train and race to the best of my ability.

Starting tomorrow.

I am racing a hometown (famous) race! The Spring Lake Five has been a staple race for locals since the 1970s. It is a race that is special to the Jersey Shore communities. It is also a fast race. I plan on running it fast.

Spring Lake Five

I then plan on hanging out with my family and friends. I need to get as much time in with this little bear as possible!

Saturday 5/18: 13.1 mi race. Brooklyn Half Marathon (1:42:42, 7:50 avg). New PR!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND! Catch you on the flip side….

What I Drank Wednesday

Welcome to the first edition of “What I Drank Wednesday.” It is much more interesting and successful than any meal I try to concoct in the kitchen (and does not result in the smoke alarm getting ripped out of the wall)!

Brooklyn Half Marathon Finish Line Treat

Dori bachelorette travel cup

Sam Adams Summer variety pack

Note: The Porch Rocker is 100% my favorite.

Skinny Watermelon Margarita via Run Eat Repeat

Note: This margarita did not turn out how it should have. I used Monica’s brilliant recipe but did not freeze the watermelon. I’m going to try again. I’ll keep you updated.

That was fun.
