About Me

Hi! My name is Ashley. Welcome to Running Bun!

So, who the hell am I?

Blog Name:

About Running Bun 1

Why is what I say worth reading? I like to run races and then train and run more races, but faster. However, I am human and sometimes (most of the time) things go awry. I am here to talk about running (and life) with a touch of humor.

My people:

About Running Bun 2

Mike (I refer to him as Fizz) is my husband the big pup is Harley and the small pup is River. and We live in New Jersey. I also love New Jersey.

Quick running story: After 2 hip surgeries in college, I didn’t run for years. I got bored (and I was healed) so I started running. Then I started racing. Then I started to train for faster times. It’s an addiction.

Important things to know about me:

  • I don’t enjoy people who don’t enjoy sarcasm
  • I am a vegetarian
  • My sisters are my best friends (Brittany and Shelley)
  • I wear spandex pants 97% of the time
  • I love animals and hate animal cruelty
  • I believe Bruce Springsteen is a musical genius
  • Favorite food: Chipotle
  • Favorite drink: Coors Light and Dunkin Donuts iced coffee
  • I genuinely enjoy playing blackjack and think that I am a “good gambler”

Most important thing in my life right now: I am pregnant and we are expecting a baby girl in March 2014! I’m scared and excited as hell.

Seriously, thank you for stopping by and double thank you if you come back more than once. I love making new friends (as long as you are funny)!

Thats perfect, since I moved to NJ with my boyfriend, I spend a majority of my time with Pinot Grigio and my dogs. Talk about anti social. Sounds like we will get along just fine :)

Haha so I read this after commenting on your kayaking post, and we are eerily similar…I have your hair exactly (and that green nike shirt in your picture, I use it as a goalie jersey for soccer) and I’m finally starting to appreciate it (the hair!) too. I also LOVE to run, and I’m not quite at your stage yet but I just ran my first half marathon in Charlottesville, VA and I’m really addicted (and will get back to it when my knee injury heals up). I really wanna work on my fitness and live healthier, love your blog already! We’d definitely be friends (:

Awesome! Congrats on the half! I am extremely prone to knee injuries as well. What helped me was giving my body the rest it needed and doing other forms of cardio for a while (spinning, elliptical). Thanks for the love! Much appreciated!

Really wishing I could rock out in your race photos as much as you. Instead I just look like I’m dying. Looking forward to staying up to date with your running and your wild hair!

    Hi friend-

So proud of you always :) This is awesome and i miss you.

Everyone- let it be known that my neon clad bff here was my inspiration to become a runner!!! Anyone who knows me knows that although I am active, I was always a terrible runner. With Ashley’s support and tips, I have run two half marathons this year! (with pretty good results if i do say so myself)

We are running another one together for the first time in October and I couldnt be more excited!! I better kick my training up a notch :)

    Love you!! <3

Girl, you had me at HGTV, spandex office attire and wine. The fact that you are a crazy dog lady and a vegetarian just put me over the edge.

Will you marry me?? I’m sure my husband will make this one acception if I promise not to bring any more stray animals into our life.

SO SO SO glad I found you.

I adore your writing and what you stand for.

    XO

I am a spin instructor who finally got a job and have been googling beyond belief to do a perfect class the first time!!! Of course that didn’t happen as the equipment at the gym did not work properly and there was no power source to allow the microphone to work so I had to yell (which just added to my anxious state!!!)–I am so grateful to have gotten the opportunity don’t get me wrong!!
My issue is not choosing the music but some songs I have a very difficult time deciding what to do as far the profile. Some songs are much easier and I think I am making it so much more difficult on myself! Any advice?
I also have to say reading your blog you are very fun and funny lighthearted and I have been enjoying reading it! I love that you are a vegetarian as am I and also an animal lover!! Thanks for the blog and thanks for letting me post!!!

Just found your blog via Skinny Runner’s blog and I’m hooked! I too believe neon makes you faster! Haha. I’ve done several races doing the walk/run method but I’m really trying to run more. I’m slowly increasing my mileage which I’m proud of.

I’m also a huge dog lover…I wish I could take every stray I see home with me.

Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts!
